RDX is a powerful explosive, which has good chemical stability and high brisance.The nitrating agent of conventional method is high concentration nitric acid, which has disadvantages such as low nitrification ability, large waste acid yield, etc.As a good nitrating agent, N2O5 has been widely used in the nitration of aromatic compounds.The nitrification systems,including N2O5,have many advantages, such as fast reaction rate, small amount of acid and high nitrification ability. Therefore, the study of preparation of RDX via nitrolysis 1,3,5-Triacylhexahydro-s-triazines with N2O5 was researched.In the paper,1.3.5-Triacetylhexahydro-s-triazine and 1,3,5-Tripropionylhexahydro-s-triazine were synthesized successfully. Then, RDX was synthesized via nitrolysis of two triazine derivatives by two nitrification systems,N2O5/organic solvents and N2O5/HNO3.The process conditions were discussed. It proved to be more efficient. The yield reached 63% and 75% respectively from 1,3,5-Triacetylhexahydro-s-triazi-ne and 1,3,5-Tripropionylhexahydro-s-triazine with N2O5/CH3CN and reached 86% and 92% respectively with N2O5/HNO3(20% and 50% with 100% HNO3).The structures of the synthetic products were characterized by Infrared Spectroscopy (IR),Mass Spectra (MS)and 1H Nuclear Magnetic Resonance('HNMR).The results proved that the structures and performance indexes of the products conformed to the design requirement and the synthesize way was novel and practical.
