In this paper, author compares the landfillgas production in PDD, applied ERs, as well as the certified ERs in the CDM projects; ascertain the current status of China's utilization of landfillgas and try to improve the inadequate in the LFG production calculation; compares the widely used models in China, the IPCC model, EPA landGEM, the central American landfill gas model and the UNFCCC methodology tool, try to choose the model which suits for the landfills in China best.At the lab , the landfill simulation tests of Chinese MSW and EU MSW which were put in reactors, were carried out for as long as 750 days and 500 days. These reactors were exposed to 37℃climates, monitoring the leachate production and characters such as pH, CODcr, VFA and NH3-N; the LFG production and landfill settlement behaviors, compare the differences between Chinese MSW and EU MSW landfill behaviors under the condition of thermostatic chamber and rainfall simulation; do AD experiment of leachate that from the reactors and Daxin landfill leachate collection pool as well as the pit on the landfill surface, for 70days, to investigate the LFG priduction potential of the leachate; do the material balance analysis of the total organic carbon (TOC) before and after Landfill, caculated the TOC loss via the leachate drainage, assessing its impacts on the LFG production potential.The study shows that: 1. The calculation of the ERs in the PDD is far greater than the actual issued CERs, according these PDDs and their monitoring reports, we found that the success rate is very low, is about 25%.This is because the collection efficiency (CE) in China is very low, about 10-20%, but the CE used in the PDD is as high as 85%, there is something wrong in the calculation of the LFG..2. Compare the three LFG models that most widely used in China, The results show that the production of the most widely used model-the EPA landGEM is much higher than the other two, about 50% higher. We have reason to believe that the the UNFCCC methodology tool is more targeted and more appropriate to China.3. The landfill simulation tests in the lab show that there are big differences between Chinese landfills and EU landfills. Chinese landfill has a fast leachate production rate and large amount, which contains high concentrations of organic matter, the TOC loss via the leachate drainage is much more, the loss of organic matter via leachate reduces the biogas yield of the land filled waste, which leads to the fact that the actual LFG production is less than calculation in theory.4. the leachate has a big biogas potential , the biogas yield are 0.9,0.3,0.6m3/kgCODremaoval respectively,the biogas potential is 0.6m3/kgCODremaovel.5. Model application results show that the UNFCCC methodology tool suits for the Chinese MSW landfill better.
