Comparing with the bulk material with large size, the nano-sized materials are widely applied in various fields due to their unique physical and chemical properties, such as large surface area and quantum size effect, quantum tunneling effect and so on.Present, low dimensional nanomaterials have special properties due to their low dimension and high surface area,in which the low dimensional magnetic and luminescent materials are mainly applied in the field of biology, such as biomedical diagnosis, drug transport and biomarkers. Finding a new and simple method to prepared low dimensional nanomaterials is a hot research topic. In this thesis,we used several kinds of simple and economical approachs to prepare magnetic and luminescent nanomateirals. The samples were characterized by FESEM,XRD and photoluminescence spectra. Some results are as follows:(1) Magnetic NiO and Fe2O3 nanomaterials with different morphologies have been prepared by hydrothermal method. The results showed that the different reactants have affect-ted on the morphology of the final samples with the same addition agent.(2) Gd2O3:Yb3+,Er3+ up-conversion luminescence materials with the morphology of hollow spheres, solid sphers and nanorods have been prepared by glucose-assisted hydrothermal method, homogeneous precipitation method and PEG-assisted hydrothermal method. It is found that the morphology of the sample has a great impact on the up-conversion luminescence properties of the samples. The solid sphere samples with more uniform and better dispersity have strongest luminescence intensity.(3) YVO4:Eu3+ spherical nanoparticles have been prepared by hydrothermal method, photoluminescence spectra showed that vanadate is a good host for luminescence materials. The products emit obvious red fluorescence under irradiation of UV light.
