Diamonds synthesized were studied using continuous spectra synchrotron radiation with the addition of FTIR in this paper. Experiment techniques, computing philosophy and calculation process were introduced in detail .The synthetic condition and process to reduce the crystal defects and improve the quality of synthetic diamond were researched through analyzed the crystal defects.Studying the micro-infrared spectroscopy from the center to the rim of diamond D11-1 has shown that the distribution of the two kinds of elements, nitrogen and hydrogen in the diamond was uneven, indicating the physical environment in the whole growth process of diamond was different. The space directions of crystal defects in these three samples were analyzed. The distributing characteristic of dislocations was that, the directions of dislocations in synthetic diamond of D11-1 were mainly along <111>, which were mainly along <112> in synthetic diamond of D11-5, and <112> and <113> in synthetic diamond of D11-6.A big layer disfigurement with crystal indices of (111) was existed in sample D11-1, which was neither Frank extrinsic or intrinsic-type stacking fault, nor the Shockley slip-type, and the reasons for its imaging need to be further studied. Stacking fault parallelled to (111) in sample D11-5, was determined as the Frank-type inserted stacking fault by the disappearing images law of the faults. A more common body defect - the growth zone existed in the sample D11-6, with the direction parallelled to the (110) and (113), perpendicular to the dislocation line. The growing direction of crystal was researched through analyzing the defects of crystal. The sample D11-1 was grown along {111} and {100}. The sample D11-5 was grown along {112}. And the sample D11-6 was grown along {112} and {113}.The main dislocations in these three synthetic diamonds were originated from the surface of the seed crystal, and it was suggested the defects were main existed on the surface of seed crystal. The quality of the synthetic diamond could be effectively enhanced if the defects on the surface of the seed crystal were reduced and the stabilization of growth condition was kept. And a proper transformation of the physical environment will be conducive to the growth of diamond too.
