This thesis is finished based on the study on the reusing of the discarded penicillin mycelium from micro-biological pharmacy. We do the research in two aspects, making activated carbon by chemical method and using discarded penicillin mycelium as activated carbon. A new reusing method of waste mycelium is brought forward in the paper.In order to investigate their physical and chemical characteristics, the percent moisture content, the volatile substance, and the ash content of the discarded mycelium sample is analyzed by gravimetric method. The heat value of the discarded mycelium is measured with oxygen-nitrogen thermometric analysis instrument, the composition and content of heavy metal in them by atomic absorption & cold atomic absorption method. Besides, we analyzed the content and composition of SiO2,Fe2O3,Al2O3,CaO,MgO in the sample with K2SiF6 volumetric method, EDTA volumetric method, and nantauquite titration method. The results show that the ash content of the discarded mycelium is lower than 10%, heat value is 21130kJ/kg. The total inorganic matter content such as SiO2, MgO, Fe2O3, CaO and Al2O3 in the sample are less than 10%. The High Performance Liquid Chromatography(HPLC) and elementary analytical instrument(Vario EL CUBE) were employed to identify varied substance and elements in the samples. As for the polycyclicaromatic hydrocarbons in mycelium, the contents are lower than 0.1% under the content of poisonous substance specified in Identification standards of Hazardous solidwaste (GB 5085.6-2007). The analysis of element reveals that the content of C is about 45% in the early stage. There is amount of organic matter in the penicillin mycelium. The penicillin mycelium in micro-biological pharmacy could satisfy the condition of industrial activited carbon.In the process of making activated carbon with penicillin mycelium by chemical method, the ZnCl2, as a kind of activator, it is studied on the impact of prepared activated carbon according to the absorbtive ability, specific area, and output ratio. Exploring the different influenced factors in the preaparation,the results indicate that the impact degree on absorbtive ability and specific area is: activated temperature > concentration of activator > carbonization time>solid-to-liquid ratio.Through orthogonal experiments, the optimum condition is obtained that temperature 500℃, activated time 2h, concentration of ZnCl2 20%. The iodine value of the produced activated carbon is 682~700mg.g-1,. methylene blue value of the produced activated carbon is 14.67~14.7 mg.g-1,the specific area is 179 m2·g-1.The output ratio of the preparation of activated carbon is mainly between 15%~25%.The experiments indicate that prepared activated carbon with discarded mycelium not only can solve the problem of a great amount of discarded mycelium but also produce the activated carbon of high quality. It represents the ecological economy mode promoted by recycling economy, and proposes a recycling process of material, that is"resource-product-recycling resource", being of good environmental & social value.
