The pure willemite primary coat glaze is transparent, while the crystal is white. By adding coloring matters, it is able to present various colors, which can play the role of adding ornamental value to the crystalline glaze. These color matters generally are some transition metal element oxide compounds, so the study of all-around influences to the willemite crystalline glaze can help to find out some other ways, in the aim of glosting fire more types of willemite crystalline glaze crystal.The ZnO is one of the materials that of the willemite crystalline glaze and can also be added into the glaze as crystal core,thus the temperature of core formation needs not to be considered in the burn system,which greatly simplifies the willemite crystalline glaze glost fire process, and the position of the zinc oxide partical on the unburnt earthenware can be decided beforehand where crystal generates after methodic stages with proper temperatures, which means the position of the crystal is controllable. The evaluation of the influences the zinc oxide to the willemite crystalline glaze is one of the key points of this experiment.Other oxides like CoO, NiO, MnO, etc. are generally the coloring matters of the willemite crystalline glaze, which makes it presents various colors. Besides, whether some other effects exist, that caused by these oxides is another study point.The experimental procedure is presented as below: glosting fire the pure willemite crystalline glaze and exploring its composition and burning system; adding zinc oxide crystal and other oxides as coloring matters to the same component in the first step; analysing the results.The key point we studied is the effects that the oxide compound chemical additive to the willemite crystalline glaze, we analyze the differences of the oxide compounds component between willemite crystalline glaze crystal and the glaze by the EDS. When add the oxide compound chemical additive to the willemite crystalline glaze,we found the metal positive ion can partially replace the position of the Zn ion in the glaze, which can be further confirmed by the XRD analysis. The differences among the various ions'volume make the particle arrange irregully,which result in the regulation reduction of the crystallinity of the crystal and crystal structure.We studied the microstructures of different crystals and the growth theories by using the polarizing microscope.At the same time we discussed the willemite crystalline glaze crystallization mechanism and analyzed the effects that each composition and the technological conditions to the crystallization performance. The discussion of technologcial conditions includes: degree of fineness of glaze, thickness of glaze coat, choose of crystal type, granularity of crystal, and the influence of burning system on the willemite crystalline glaze as well.
