Going with the development of economy, the world environment conditions get worse. As the automobile exhaust is one of the biggest pollutant source, improving the quality of gasoline is imperative under this situation. Using gasoline additives including octane improvement agents(anti-knock agents)is one of the most efficient and economical way to improve the gasoline quality. MTBE has been the most widespread additives in the present market, but it will quit this stage soon because of its pollution to underground water. Scholars believe that the efficient additives based on ester antiknock agents will be hot spots. Under this background, I begin the research on Diethyl carbonate (DEC).I use the gas chromatograph to get the LLE data for four ternary systems and four quaternary systems containing DEC. The four ternary systems are:water-n-propanol-DEC, water-DEC-benzene, water-DEC-cyclohexane, water-DEC-n-octane, and the four quaternary systems are:water-n-propanol-DEC-benzene, water-n-propanol-DEC-cyclohexane, water-n-propanol-DEC-n-heptane, water-n-propanol-DEC-n-octane.I have analyzed these LLE data and at the same time I have predicted and correlated the above systems by Extended UNIQUA model and Modified UNIQUAC model. The research manifests that the mixture of DEC and n-propanol as gasoline additives can obviously reduce the miscibility of water with n-propanol under using four alkanes to Simulate the gasolineThe research manifests that both the Extended UNIQUAC model and the Modified UNIQUAC model can accurately correlated the exprimental systems. Therefore, in the design of chemical separation, we can predict LLE properties of complicated fluid mixtures.by using the multibody interaction parameters obtained by either model.
