Because of gasoline additive MTBE is easy to pollute the underground water, Scientist istry to find new gasoline additive. In recent years, diethyl carbonate(DEC) have been found canbe used as a gasoline additive,to improve gasoline octane number, and reduce the knockphenomenon in combustion chamber.it is a fine replacement of traditional additive,I begin theresearch on Diethyl carbonate (DEC) in this thesis.I use the gas chromatograph to get the LLE data for one ternary systems and threequaternary systems containing DEC,This method is simple, fast, and accuracy. The ternarysystems is: water-DEC-toluene,and the three quaternary systems are: water-methanol-DEC-toluene, water-methanol-DEC-cyclohexane, water-methanol-DEC-n-heptane,I haveanalyzed these LLE data and the same time compared these with some other scholars' paper. The research manifests that the mixture of DEC and methanol as gasoline additives canobviously reduce the miscibility of water with methanol under using three alkanes to Simulatethe gasoline.and also can improve the octane number, reduce the destruction of water, so DECis a fine additives, and have a good prospect of application. The ternary and quaternary LLE data have been predicted and correlated by ExtendedUNIQUA model and Modified UNIQUAC model on this thesis. The calculated results manifestthat both the Extended UNIQUAC model and the Modified UNIQUAC model can accuratelycorrelated the exprimental systems. Therefore, in the chemical production, using the multibodyinteraction parameters obtained by either model can be applied to predict LLE properties ofcomplicated fluid mixtures...
