Molecular recognition and molecular assembly are the most popular research areas, where crown ethers and terpyridine derivatives are always used to construct supramolecular systems. In this paper, two fluorescent molecules containing 2,2':6',2"-terpyridine and benzo-15-crown-5 moieties have been designed and successfully synthesized and characterized unambiguous by 1H NMR,13C NMR,IR and TOF-MS. The further studies of properties of CT-1 and CT-2 were performed and discussed. The thesis consists of the following studies:(1) CT-1, CT-2 have well stability, solubility and strong fluorescence.(2) CT-1 have a better response to Zn2+ and Cd2+ so that it can be used as fluorescent receptor for Zn2+ and Cd2+, CT-1-Zn2+ complex can be used to specific recognition of H2PO4- and arginine. It can be served as molecular fluorescence sensor for arginine. CT-1-Cd2+ complex shows no response to anginine.(3) CT-2 can form small molecule weight organic gel in ethnol throughπ-πstacking. CT-1 does not form gel. In the present of zinc ion, CT-2 can form a new gel system directed by zinc ion.
