Vehicle transportation scheduling is main content of Vehicle Management in un-derground mining, which has great effect on production efficiency of Mining enter-prises. This paper took path selection and utilization of vehicles as the goal of vehicles scheduling optimization system. According to the practical situation in non-pillar sub-level caving underground mine production scheduling system, this paper established the vehicle scheduling optimization model. The actual application showed that this model is successful and effective in solving production scheduling problem as well as in improving the economic benefit in underground mine.The main contents are summed up as follows:(1) On the basis of systemic discussing basic theory of ant colony algorithm, this paper made necessary improvement over premature convergence and local opti-mization which are usually appeared in basic ant colony algorithm.(2) On the basis of systemic analyzing the problem of vehicle transportation scheduling optimization, this paper proposed vehicle transportation scheduling opti-mization algorithm in underground mine based on improved ant colony algorithm.(3) According to vehicles transportation scheduling issue with time window which the number of vehicles is uncertain, this paper proposed an improved ant colony algorithm by random searching path and dynamic calculating vehicle number.(4) With highest utilization and shortest path of vehicles for the target of scheduling optimization problem, this paper did simulation studies by using improved ant colony optimization, according to vehicle transportation scheduling system of Me-iShan iron mine-330m transport level. By using improved ant colony to optimize vehicles scheduling problem in under-ground mine, mining enterprise can distribute the vehicles according to need, which is very helpful to improve the limited resources utilization and transport efficiency, as well as to establish perfect vehicle scheduling system in underground mine.
