The generation and postprocessor of NC tool-path based on triangular surface were studied in-depth in this paper, focusing on obtaining the non-interference CL(Cut Location) points based on triangular mesh surface and triangular Bezier surface model, the multi-axis tool-path generation for finishing and roughing process under different forms, tool-path post-processing and so on. The main achievements and innovations are as follows:(1)According to geometric feature of the cutter, the CL points calculation based on the triangular mesh surface model by tangent to face, edge and point separately and downward compatible CL points calculation based on data cloud model were achieved;(2) The corresponding CL points calculation of the ball-cutter by studying geometric properties of triangular Bezier surface were achieved;(3)The NC finishing tool-path were studied, and the CL drive-point of stroke milling were planed, then the circle, helix and cylinder for a typical part were researched, at last the multi-axis finishing tool-path of stroke, milling helix and cylinder were generated;(4) The NC roughing tool-path and its implement method were studied, and the roughing tool-path for direction-parallel and contour-parallel were achieved;(5) The standard APT file format were analized,tool-path file using the APT file as tool-path information carrier were output, and the tool-path post-processing mechanism were analized, the post processor for VB-825A and DMU70ev NC machining centers based on Python were developped;(6) The overall framework of the triangular surface manufacturing system based on idea of blocks were planned, the programs to achieve the algorithm were proposed in this paper and an automated programming system for triangular surface machining were generated, at last using some examples to validate the algorithm and system proposed in this paper.
