Graphene is a kind of carbon materials which has a two-dimensional sheet of sp2-hybridized structure. The extended honeycomb structure of graphene is the important building unit of other carbon allotropes:the sheets of graphene can be stacked to form graphite which has 3D structure, the 1D nano carbon tubes are formed by rolling the graphene and the OD fullerenes are the wrapped graphene. The Long-rangeπ-πconjugation structure of graphene brings about the excellent thermal, mechanical and electrical properties. In this thesis, the fully oxidized graphite oxide was prepared by Staudenmaier method, and after the ultrasonic processing, the totally exfoliated graphene oxide was prepared. Then the graphene oxide was chemical modified and mixed with epoxy to prepare the epoxy/graphene oxide nanocomposites. The obtained nanocomposites were characterized. In this study, the totally exfoliated graphene oxide was modified by SDS, silane coupling agent KH560.The graphene oxide and chemical-modified graphene oxide were mixed with the epoxy to obtain the epoxy/graphene oxide nanocomposites. And the nanocomposites were characterized by TEM, TG, XRD, Cone calorimetry and dielectric test to research the role of graphene oxide in improving the function of epoxy. In this research, the graphene oxide was proved that during the blending processing, the graphene oxide dispersed well in epoxy. And the thermal stablity and flame retardancy of nanocomposite with 1 wt% filler loading were improved. And the dielectric parameter of nanocomposite with 1 wt% filler loading was much lower than the neat epoxy.
