Graphene,a new type of two-dimensional carbon nanomaterials,has recently been used as filling materials in thepolymer modification field owing to its outstanding physical properties,and especially use the graphene to reinforce epoxy resin has become a research focus.As with all of nano-filling,the graphene also with the problem of scattered and interfacial adhesion in the matrix and this greatly limits its mechanics performance.In this study,graphene was dealed with a series of treatment and the results were detected by FTIR ?XRD?TG and XPS,after that graphene/epoxy resin nanocomposites were prepared in order to reinforce the epoxy resin,the main work is shown as below:?1?Expandable graphite was produced by flake graphite and KMnO4 with hydrothermal method,the expansion temperature and the quantities of KMnO4 to the expansion effect was investigated.Two kinds of GO were prepared from natural flake graphite powder and expandable graphite using the modified Hummers method and characterized by FTIR?XRD?TG and XPS.The results show that the GO that made by expandable graphite with more oxygen groups and greater interlayer space.?2?Using HCl as catalysts,bisphenol A?BPA?was reaction with the E-GO to get BPA-GO,and the FTIR?XPS results proved that the BPA have been grafted to the GO surface.The reaction condition was investigated in the study,detection result indicated that the best HCl's concentration is 5 wt% and the best reaction temperature is 75 ?.?3?According to the principle of preparing epoxy resin,in the condition of alkalin,surface functionalized GO was achieved by BPA-GO reaction with the ECH and BPA and the graphene oxide coated with a layer of epoxy resin was obtained.The best functional reaction condition was researched in the paper also,FTIR and TG result show that when PH=10,T=80 ?,the GO got the best functionalization.SEM pictures show the surface morphology change of the GO before and after functionalization.Compare with E-GO,the BPA-GOand EP-GO can dispersion stability in the acetone.?4?E-GO/Ep?BPA-GO/Ep?Ep-GO/Ep nanocomposites were made by solution blending.The results show that the tensile strength ? bending strength andimpact strength of the composites was improved after add GO,especially the Ep-GO.Adding1 wt% EP-GO in the epoxy resin,the tensile strength ?bending strength ?impactstrength were increased by 95% ? 39.5% ? 73.7%respectively.The SEM results indicated that the Ep-GO disperse homogeneously in Ep matrix and with a superior interfacial adhesion compared with E-GO and BPA-GO.
