Electrical explosion of wire has a unique advantage in fine powder producing and spray coating.Electrical explosion is a process in which wire is inflicted high voltage in a short while in a certain gaseous medium and strong electric current pulse makes the wire melt,gasify, expand and then explode.High shock wave,which is produced in the procession of explosion, impels metallic vapor to move at fair speed and then take shape into metal alloy and fine powder such as metallic oxide or nitride.This method has many advantages as follows:the power is utilized richly, the technological parameter can be adjusted, the granularity can be controlled, the environment is not polluted and the powder granularity produced is distributed in a small range and has high purity quotient and high chemical process.The spraying coating is that the product of the explosion spatters around at a high speed under the acting force of the explosion wallop,and then integrates the surface of materials dose and form the coat.The metals which are difficult to melt such as tungsten and molybdenum can be used as spray coating materials and they are applicable especially as the inner surface of spray coating work piece.Taking advantage of the electrical explosion equipment of wire and electrode of a power of the high pressure electric field in the experiment, the wire falls into the high pressure electric field straightly by the gravity and executes the rapid electrical explosion.The equipment consists of vacuum explosion laboratory, high pressure electric circuit system,the command electric circuit and supplemental system and powder collecting system,etc.In order to realize the continuously wire explosion to meet the requirements of industry production,this paper discusses the design of the rectification of the wire and scissoring equipment,which includes the wire delivering unit,rectification unit and scissoring unit.The equipment can realize the wire rectification and scissoring according to the provided length and the continuous wire explosion, meanwhile, this is a stable process and easy to adjust and operate the parameter with highly developed automation.The process of electrical explosion is affected by the voltages of the two sides of the electrode of a power, the length and the diameter of the wire, the distance of electrode of a power, electrical inductance of the wire, electric discharge,and electric resistance,etc.Through changing the explosion parameters in the explosion process and carrying out a series of experiments to fix the affection to the powder production and coat spray in industry.The quality of the paint-coat is directly affected by the property and development of explosion results in the explosion process.Taking advantage of the wire explosion method in the high pressure electric field, through changing the initial voltage and the diameter of the wire and adjusting the density of the energy on the wire,it can execute a series of electrical explosion experiment. Meanwhile, it can execute the micro-analysis by using the results of the explosion process.The result shows that the initial result in the electrical explosion contains the liquid and gas,and becomes the solid with the development of the expansion distance.Once the basic substance is in the expansion distance in which the result is not solid,the liquid,at the same time,reduce the liquid in the explosion result.The initial voltage has less effect toward the expansion distance of vapor, but the diameter of the wire has more effect toward it. The effect can be different according to the various energy densities.When the energy density is more than 152J/mm3,the liquid can reach to 5% and the expansion distance of vapor disposition is 9.5mm.Thus the knowledge about the energy density of the wire and its effect on electrical explosion and fine powder producing to some extent has been achieved.
