Piezoelectric material is a smart material which can achieve conversion between mechanical energy and electric energy. Sensors,filters,retarders and actuators that made of piezoelectric material have been widely used in different fields of modern industry, such as electronic technology, medical equipment and mechanical engineering. The piezoelectric composite material can be divided into ten basic types as 0—0,0—1,0—2,0—3,1—1,1—2,1—3,2—2,2—3 and 3—3 in accordance with the distribution of the piezoelectric and non-piezoelectric in the composites.On the based of full study of the piezoelectric theory and mastering of the ANSYS finte element analysis software,the properties of four type piezoelectric composites (0—3,1—3,2—3,3—3) are investigated by using the unit cell-based finite element method.The unit cell may also be called a representative volume element (RVE).In the present work, the property parameters stiffness matrix, piezoelectric matrix and dielectric matrix of composites were predicted by collecting and processing the data of different simulated conditions using the constitutive equation of piezoelectric material,mechanical and electromagnetic knowledge.Based on the work in the above,the influence on elastic constants, piezoelectric constant and dielectric constant of piezoelectric composites of the connection type, the phase content, size and phase space of piezoelectric and the polymer matrix properties (Young's modulus,Poisson's ratio and dielectric constant) were studied. According to the simulation analysis,the piezoelectric properties of composites can be effectively improved by increasing the phase content of piezoelectric material.In the case of the same piezoelectric volume fraction, the connection types also have a major impact on the properties of piezoelectric composites.The piezoelectric properties will be increased by decreasing the the differences between dielectric constant and elastic constants of the components,reduceing the particle size of 0-3; and increasing the aspect ratio of 1-3.The Purpose of this paper is to look forward to give suggestions to the design and manufacturing of piezoelectric composites,and to saving manufacturing costs, reducing the production cycle and so on.
