TiO2 as a semiconductor was widely used in various applications such as solar cell, dyes degradation, organic synthesis and so on, due to its favorable chemical property, high stability and low cost. Many methods were used to synthesized TiO2 nanoparticles, such as sol-gel, hydrothermal method and settling method, which of them need high techniques like high temperature, high pressure, advanced equipments and were not good to the environment by use of large organic solvents.Recently ionic liquids (ILs) have been used to prepare inorganic nanomaterials such as metal oxides at room temperature because of the merits mentioned bellow. ILs which are defined as salts that fluid at near ambient temperatures and consist of predominantly ionic species have remarkable physicochemical properties such as extended temperature range of liquidstate, no vapour, tunable solvent properties, air-and water-stability, and low toxicity. In this work, we synthesized anatase phase TiO2 with 1-buthyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([Bmim]PF6) as solvent. During the preparation process, the baking temperature and time were changed in order to optimize the preparative technique. The prepared particles were characterized by XRD and BET. And then the synthesized nanoparticles were used to photocatalysis o-nitrophenol (ONP) to o-Aminophenol (OAP). Meanwhile, we also prepared N-TiO2 nanoparticles which were based on the previous work. The additive amount of urea, baking temperature and time were changed with the purpose of optimizing the preparative technique. The nanoparticles were characterized by XRD, BET and UV-Vis.Then the prepared N-TiO2 nanoparticles were used to degradate the azo dye:Methyl Orange. The catalystic activity was researched by the consider of the effect of factors of experiment such as concentration of solution, pH value of solution, the amount of catalyst and the source of light. Meanwhile, N-TiO2 nanoparticles were also used to synthesize Schiff base Salicylaldehyde o-aminophenol. Generally, the Schiff bases are synthesized by amines and aldehydes (ketones). But there there were not many works studying the one step synthesized the Schiff bases form o-nitrophenol (ONP) during irradiation. In this work, we prepared Salicylaldehyde o-aminophenol derived from ONP and Salicylaldehyde which was based on our previous experimental data. And we identified the structure of prepared Schiff base by UV-Vis and FT-IR.
