Lanthanum modified polyaluminum ferric chloride (La-PAFC) is a new type flocculant, which is prepared by adding Lanthanum in the process of synthesizing flocculant. This paper Compared and contrasted the change of flocculation performances before and after of the modification, to find the optimum synthesis condition and preliminary study the principle of modification. And the results showed that the flocculation efficiency of La-PAFC is stronger than PAFC.The experimental results found out the optimum synthesis condition to synthesize La-PAFC. And the addition of lanthanum nitrate solution has great influence on the optimum synthesis basicity and synthesis time. The results of ferron timed complex-colorimetric method experiment showed that lanthanum nitrate solution and basicity can influence the hydrolysis polymerization process of aluminum and iron, and advance the active ingredient concentration. By the study of dynamic process of flocculation found that, after modification, La-PAFC`S finial floc size was bigger than PAFC, SRD was smaller and the speed of floc formation was quicker. The results of ferron method experiment, IR and transmission electron microscopy analysis demonstrated polymerization degree of La-PAFC was higher than PAFC, and lanthanum could enhance the reaction of the hydrolysis polymerization process of aluminum and iron.La-PAFCC gived better removal effect of sauce wastewater treatment than PAFC, and it's the optimum flocculant dosage is smaller, the removal rates of CODCr,chroma and SS was higher than 66%,85% and 94%.This paper accords to the principle of resource recovery of solid waste and finds a news way for comprehensive utilization of blast furnace dust and scrap material of aluminum. This method is feasible and it explores a new way to reuse the industrial wastes.
