The production of water with hydrocarbons from subterranean wells constitutes a major problem and expense in the hydrocarbons. The sweep efficiency can be increased by plugging the high permeability formation, which means the recovery efficiency of oil production will be stimulated. Selective Water-Shutoff agents include two types:solution and gel. Conventional water-reduction gels are almost polyacrylamide-based. Because of the polyacrylamide's bad stability and other limitations, it is replacing by new selective water-shutoff gels gradually. Polymers are very popular in studying of new water-shutoff gels because they can plug water well more than oil. In this paper, AA/AM/DMDAAC polymer and AA/AM/DMDAAC/AMPS polymer are prepared and the behaviour are studied.In the study, AA/AM/DMDAAC polymer was prepared throw aqueous polymerization, and a series of polymers are prepared in different conditions; The method is simple and in short time, and the optimal factors of the copolymerization is AA:AM:DMDAAC=1:1:1 (mass ratio), superfine montmorilloniteat is 15% of monomers'mass, (NH4)2S2O8-NaHSO3 is 0.3%(mass of (NH4)2S2O8), N,N-methylene bisacrylamide is 0.1%, protected by N2 at 50℃for 4h; AA/AM/DMDAAC polymer had perfect swelling and strengh properties under this condition; AA/AM/DMDAAC/AMPS polymer is synthesized throw aqueous polymerization, too; and the method is simple and its condition is mild.The water plugging behaviour of AA/AM/DMDAAC was studied by hardness and core test, and the result show that:The relative permeability modifying polymer had preferable strengh and adhesion, which could even decrease water phase permeability significantly with more than 99% of stemming ratio and more than 2.0Mpa of core breakthrough pressure; The selectivity of the polymer was to a significant extent, which had less stemming ratio and core breakthrough pressure in oil phase than water. So the potential of the polymer application will be good. AA/AM/DMDAAC/AMPS polymer also could be prepared throw simple work-up like AA/AM/DMDAAC polymer and had the similar properties, which could be refered by people to synthesize new relative permeability modifiers.
