Self-cleaning discs-type filter uses pressure difference filtrated principle to separate the solid and liquid materials, its advantages include:simple structure,continuous operation,accurate filter,effective return rinsing,stably operation,small floor area,easy installation,low maintained cost,long service life and so on. It can be widely used in solid-liquid separation and dehydration of every industry, especially in metallurgy,chemical industry,papermaking industry,city water supply industry,seawater desalination industry and so on.The self-cleaning discs-type filter designed by this thesis is firstly witnessed at home. Compared with existing self-cleaning discs-type filter, it has structure improvement; it includes the design of filter unit structure and interval device. The improved design of filter unit includes:disc,conical valve seat,conical valve,piston assembly,filter core,bearing element and shell. Furthermore, it sets many kinds of interval modes in order to overcome the deadweight and to contrast every kinds of interval mode.The thesis is based on a multi-phase flow modal,the standard K-εturbulence model and SIMPLE algorithm,the computational fluid dynamics software has been used to analyze the flow field of the discs adjacent to the filter head. By numerical simulation, it can be drawn:the most suitable placket angle of A type disc,the velocity vector and pressure distribution situation between adjacent discs of different types in the same filtering precision and the velocity vector and pressure distribution situation between adjacent discs of different filtering precision of the same type disc. The simulation results show that all the design requirements are satisfied, and the program helps to improve filtration efficiency and reduce the pressure loss during the filtration process. This thereby reduces the cost of the filter and brings certain industry practical valve. The simulations described provide a basis of a design in the absence of a mature theory.
