It's particularly important to study an effective method of CO2 absorption for protecting environment and using carbon dioxide resources. At present, the commonly used organic amines have their own shortcomings, while the most research of mixed amines concentrated on dynamic model. There is lack of comprehensive research on absorbent in absorption, regeneration, corrosion protection and anti-degradation.A monoethanolamine (MEA)-based compound absorbent for CO2 has been investigated with compound method in attempt to improve its performance in terms of absorption rate, absorption load, regeneration degree, corrosion protection and anti-degradation, the results could provide the basis of CO2 compound chemical absorbent. The results showed that addition of piperazine (PZ) or 2-amino-2-methyl-l-propanol (AMP) can improve the performance of MEA solution in respect of absorption load, absorption rate and regeneration capability. Oxidation film type corrosion inhibitors which was added to absorbent solution can form a layer of dense flat membrane in the surface of carbon steel and stainless steel, and this membrane could restrain the corrosion of the solution for these two kinds of material as well as improve the anticorrosion performance of the absorbent solution, which has better protection for carbon steel and stainless steel material. The corrosion inhibition efficiency was observed to decrease in the order sodium metavanadate>potassium chromate>potassium dichromate>sodium nitrite>sodium nitrate>sodium phosphate>sodium sulfite. The addition of a small amount of sodium metavanadate or potassium sodium tartrate can improve the performance of the MEA solution in respect of anti-degradation. The composition of compound absorbent is 12% MEA +8% PZ+1% sodium metavanadate, meanwhile, the addition of sodium metavanadate has no effect on the process of absorption and regeneration.
