As is known, the cement rotary kiln is an important device in the cement production line and its running status directly affectes output, quality and energy wastage of cement clinker. Currently, there are two ways to achieve the fault diagnosis for cement clinker. One totally relies on the experience of engineers, and the other is to introduce fuzzy control theory and methods in the fault diagnosis system. The project operator is depended on entirely in the former. So it is unable to efficiently and accurately complete fault diagnosis of cement rotary kiln. Some uncertain knowledge to carry out reasoning is proposed in the latter. However, it is difficult to update the existing system knowledge whose transparency and interoperability is poor. Therefore, the design of an efficient and accurate fault diagnosis for rotary kiln is becoming very important and urgent.To overcome shortcomings of the existing fault diagnosis, combining with network technology, a fault diagnosis expert system is designed for cement kiln based on.Net platform in this paper. Some main research is introduced as follows:Firstly, some common faults of cement kiln are introduced and analyzed, the fault names and fault reasons are also summed up, whch is prepared for design of fault diagnosis expert system later. Secondly, the fault diagnosis expert system for cement kiln is designed. The configuration of three-tier B/S architecture of Browser/Web Server/Database is set up in this paper. For the diagnosis and description knowledge representation, we use production rules and framework methods separately. Expert systems and fuzzy reasoning technology are applied to achieve diagnosis and control of abnormal working condition for the production process. Thirdly, this paper designs the functional modules of this system. Application of SQL Server 2000 database and ADO.NET is introduced in detail, and AcitveX for history curve is also designed. OPC interface is used to achieve real-time interaction with the DCS, and AJAX technology is used to complete Real-time data refresh for network interface, and the design of real-time diagnosis screen. Besides, the system also designs the wireless sending function of production information. Managers are able to get production information by SMS. Finally, this paper introduces the realization and application of the system such as setting process of software development environment, architecture plan and specific application examples of cement kiln fault diagnosis expert systems based on.NET platform.The project which is practical and innovative highly has been successfully applied in ShanDong DongHua cement Co. Ltd, gets good benefits of economy and society, and thus has a high application value and a wide market prospect.
