Plastic-metal hybrid injection processing technology can bring the characteristics of plastic material and metal material into full play, produce light weight and high precision plastic-metal hybrid parts, the product is excellent in structure performance, which stands for the latest development of modern plastic injection molding and metal molding regions. In recent years, the technology has been gradually applied and expanded in home appliances, communications, electronics, decoration, automobile and aerospace fields. Particularly in the automobile manufacturing field, plastic-metal hybrid parts can not only greatly reduce the body weight but also the cost of manufacturing in the condition of meeting the structural requirements. This is one of important development directions of automobile parts.This paper researches on plastic-metal hybrid injection processing technology and its key factors which affect the molding properties by combining numerical simulation and experimental means. The main contents include:â‘ Sum up the plastic-metal hybrid injection processing technology, and its related injection molding theories, injection molding CAE technology and its application status.â‘¡Research on the key elements of numerical simulation of plastic-metal hybrid injection processing. To improve the accuracy of CAE analysis, emphasize on the characteristics of non-uniform wall thickness of plastic-metal hybrid parts, discuss the influence of the non-uniformity of the plastic parts'wall thickness on injection molding flow simulation results; to analyze the simulation of flow injection by using three mesh models and taking a plastic cup with non-uniform wall thickness as an example, compare the simulated results with the experiment, at the same time, discuss injection temperature, pressure, melt materials, and the influence of differences in the degree of non-uniform thickness wall toward the law of injection molding flow process.â‘¢Take plastic-metal hybrid parts of FORD Focus 2.0 front component as the object and establish the simplified model of CAE, and then carry on injection molding simulation on such basis, the injection temperature, pressure, inserts structure, the melt material, insert materials and temperature on the bond strength of hybrid parts, warp, and insert displacement were investigated.We have a deep understanding of plastic-metal hybrid injection processing through this research; the relevant conclusions have the value of reference to production practice.
