Recovery and utilization of waste polymer materials are two important planning targets for many countries to prevent environmental pollution and develop renewable resources. Aiming at decentralization and extensive management of recovery and utilization of waste polymer materials for wire and cable in the city of Qingyuan, in this paper, some modification methods were used to improve basic mechanical properties of recycled PVC material, so that the composite could reach or exceed properties of unmodified resin, meet the quality requirement of some special products.By compounding using or respectively using cation surfactants, anion surafeetants or silane coupling agents, organically firstly modified montmorillonite and second inserted montmorillonite were prepared. The modified montmorillonite was characterized by measuring contacted angle, XRD, dispersivity experiment, FT-IR and TG. By investigating the effects of different modifiers and process conditions on the intercalation modification, the optimized single or compounding modifiers were selected. Then recycled polyvinylchloride (PVC)/Montmorillonite (MMT) nanocomposites were prepared by adding modified MMT into the recycled PVC. The effects of MMT's contents and different modifiers on the structure and properties of nanocomposites were characterized by XRD, TEM, DSC and measuring mechanical properties.Compared to traditional methods, the method in this paper could improve the multi-property of recycled PVC, and the process and operation are simple. Besides, its modifiers overcame the disadvantages of large consumptions, gave consideration to rigidity, heat resistance, dimensional stability and toughness. The research on recycled PVC nanocomsites will promote the development of recycled PVC materials'engineering and high performance.
