LLDPE as a material has many advantages, such as light, nonpoisonous, insulated and outstanding mechanical property. However, the LOI of LLDPE is only 17-18, and it is easy to be ignited, when burning it will emit great amount of heat and has melting. Thus, to increase the flame retardancy of LLDPE becomes very important. For chasing green chemistry, using flame retardant without halogen is a better choice. Among all the flame retardant, the IFR has advantages on less melting, nonpoisonous and less smog. But it also has certain disadvantage, such as poor compatibility, poor dispersion, and with the amount of IFR increase the mechanical property decreased. If we can use the wood fiber (WF) as a char forming agent to partly replace pentaerythitol in Intumescent Flame Retardants, in one side the cost of IFR will decrease, on the other side, the useless WF and be used again. In additional, add WF can increase the mechanical property of the composite. In the dissertation, the whole amount of char forming agent will not change, but the amount of WF in the char forming agent gradually increased and the property of flame retardant composites are researched.By comparing different composite, we found that with the increase of WF, the LOI decreased, but the mechanical property increased. Considering the two fields, the best composite comes when the amount of WF in char forming agent is 25%. On the base of best match, the processing parameter is researched and then obtained a better LLDPE material.During the research, we also found that the WF has lower degradation temperature, so we treated the WF and increase its degradation temperature, by doing so the final composite has better mechanical property as well. Thus, used 25% treated WF as char forming has both wonderful flame retardant property and mechanical property.
