In China's soda industrial systems, the cold separation circulating Pump is the core equipment. Owing to historical reasons, cold crystallization mould has been adopting axial-flow pump, but its disadvantages are low efficiency and large vibration. The Liquid-level fluctuations of cold separation mould have serious impact on pump performance. Replacing axial flow pump with mixed-flow pump is a feasible way. Though a large flow of circulation pumps has come out, it is not out of the circle of axial-flow pump in recent years. Compared with the axial flow pump, the mixed flow pump has smaller flow and higher lift. It is becoming increasingly important in reducing damage and vibration with the increasing demand of high efficiency, low noise, light weight and smooth operation. The content of this paper is the finite element analysis of the main components in the cold circulating pump. It includes modal analysis and strength analysis with the software ANSYS. Using the continuous system dynamics derive and solve out the shaft's natural frequency and vibration mode function to provide the theoretical basis for preventing damage and resonance of circulation pump.Through the modal analysis based on finite element model, it calculates the natural frequencies and mode shapes of various components. It provides a theoretical basis to reduce noise and find the shaft's critical speed for indifferent design requirements, so that the choice of shaft speed has a larger space. In the mechanical analysis based on finite element model, first it could determine the load boundary conditions, and then make the finite element analysis. In the last, it could get the first principal stress, the second principal stress, the third principal stress and strain in order to do the strength check. Using the continuous system dynamics derive and solve out the shaft's natural frequency and vibration mode function to provide the theoretical basis for frequency testing of whole machine. With the rapid development of computer, modal analysis and strength analysis have also get the rapid progress in computing, a large number of finite element analysis software have been used in the pump mode analysis and strength analysis. It can save a lot of test workload, and save a lot of manpower and resources. It must be the future trend that the widely used finite element analysis software in the design of the pump.
