Municipal solid waste(MSW) is the inevitable outcome of being activities. MSW exists because of human. So far the treated rate of MSW is not more than 45%.The MSW untreated which is piled up spread diseases, jeopardize our health, contaminate the environment. The MSW treating is the hotspot of society all the time. Combustion is the valid way to treat MSW. The advantage is reduction, reclamation hazardfree. The combustion has something with fuel sizes, fuel shapes, fuel moistures, bed temperature and air rate. The thesis researches on the MSW combustion with TGA(thermogravimetry analysor) and the fluidized bed.Potatoes, paper, wood,PVC and the mixture of these fuels are chosen in the TG experiment. These fuel are cut into four sizes. Referring to the coal combustion, the MSW combustion is researched in TG,DTG,the ignition, burnout temperature, the weight change, the DTG peak and the apparent activation energy.Potatoes, radish and the mixture of these fuels are chosen in the fluidized bed experiment. By changing fuel sizes, fuel shapes, fuel moistures, bed temperature and air rate, the ignition time, the combustion time, the bed temperature change, the content of O2,CO,NO,CxHy in the flue gas and the carbon content in the fly ash are analysed. The thesis researches on the influence of the fuel sizes on the combustion of the MSW by TGA, the smaller the size, the more quickly the fuel ignites, but the less the weight loss is.while the influence of f fuel sizes, fuel shapes, fuel moistures, bed temperature and air rate on combustion is complex in the fluidized bed. The combustion of mixture in TGA can be seen as the overlay of the combustion of the single component, but it does not exist in the fluidized bed.
