Paper is not only an important and indispensable consumer goods, but also an important raw material for industrial, In order to meet the growing demand for paper, paper factory adopt continuously new technology and equipment to expand production scale. The innovation makes the production process of paper-making more complexes, and more advanced automatic control system began to be applied to paper production.This article describes papermaking process control's development status in China and others. Through the paper-making process of analysis, this research focuses on the control of the headbox Level-Pressure firstly, and then the paper basis weight and moisture control were also analyzed and simulated in detail.Simplifying the headbox into an isometric object, its mathematical model was established by using dynamic mechanism analysis. In order to overcoming the strong-coupling on Level-Pressure, a state feedback method based on pole placement was proposed to transfer the control system into two SISO systems. Considering the characteristics of strong coupling and large delay on Weight and Moisture control system, two decoupling controller was established based on the conventional PID and diagonal recurrent neural network (DRNN) respectively. Through comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the both options, the results indicated that decoupling control system based on DRNN can work and optimize the system more effectively.In the research, the two control system proposed above were simulated base on Matlab platform and got fairly good. Finally, some summarization and suggestion were also giving in the last chapter which lay the foundation for further study on this subject.
