Basis on the regional geological setting and anatomical detail coring, it was determined the sedimentary sand microfacies types are channel deposit, channel bar, point bar deposit, crevasse splay deposit, flood plain deposit, swamp deposit by multidisciplinary analysis of deposition and logging datum. The curve of relationship between the sedimentary facies and logging the response was established. The microfacies of block were divisioned. The combination of relations and the distribution characteristics of the microfacies were studied. Reservoir has low porosity and permeability characteristics. The properties of lower He 8 formation are better than Shan 1 formation and top of He 8 formation. The non-homoge are serious and the non-homogeneous enhance from to bottom. The main affecting factors of the reservoir properties are diagenesis and sedimentation. High-energy waterway piont bat was main location of coarse waste precipitation facie. It is the most important factor to control the distribution of effective reservoir in Sulige gas field. In order to improve the problems appeared in the development such as a single well controlled reserves of vertical wells is low, gas production is low, the pressure drop quickly, and stable yield less capable, and so on, horizontal well technology research has carried out by GREAT WALL company which were aimed at the production characteristics and geological features of low permeability, low pressure, low-abundance lithologic gas reservoir. It has drilled 5 horizontal wells in Su 10 block at the moment. They were put into production. The daily production are 3~18×104m3/d. The production effects are better. With the deepening of understanding of gas reservoir, horizontal well drilling and completion techniques by high production per well as the main features are being further improved. It is provides an important technical means for the development of low permeability gas reservoir.Accordance with program requirements, during the period of stabilized production from 2008 to 2017, it will drill 60 straight wells per year (cumulative drilling 600 straight wells) to compensate for production decline to keep natural gas production in the 10×108m3/a. So it is important to drill effectively wells and maintain stable production to conduct reservoir characteristics thoroughly, looking for gas-rich region and development technology strategy in view of reservoir characteristics.
