The research on the high solid aircraft dope was studied in this paper. A novel kind of low viscosity polyester resin was successfully synthesized. Effect of different monomers, acid value, and reaction time, molecular weight and molecular weight distribution on the properties of the polyester resin was investigated by the ways of FTIR, GPC. The synthesis process and the production processes were also researched herein.The different kinds of isocyanate prepolymer curing agent, NCO/OH ratio, the different kinds of TiO2 and pigment binder ratio content on the coating weather and additives on the performance of high-solid aircraft dope were probed. Finally, the formula of the high-solid-content aircraft dope was determined.This high solid content paint was synthesized to apply in Boeing material specification BMS10-72. The results showed the dope was an excellent aircraft protection and decorative coatings. It was an environmental friendly material, which was in consistent with the national policies of the environmental protection.
