To improve the processing performance of the CNC milling machine, good structure dynamic and static performance must be given. This paper fixes the CAD/CAE model of the components by carrying on modal analysis on a high-speed vertical milling machine XH786A, and comparing the results with the modal test data. On the basis of the finite element model of the whole structure analysis, optimal design of the disposition of ribs of the main components of the milling machine is carried out. The dynamic and static performance of the whole structure is increased. The study of this paper includes:(1)Dynamics and statics design method is used in the whole structure and main components of a CNC milling machine optimal design.(2)Based on the unit structure and frame size optimization theory, optimal design of the bed and column by the large-scale finite element analysis software ANSYS is carried out, and good results is achieved.(3)Static and dynamic analysis of the finite element model of the whole structure is carried out. The weak link of the static and dynamic characteristics and machining accuracy of the milling machine is obtained by the mode shape. The topology optimization for the weak link is carried out by using the volume as the constraint and the structure supple degree as the objective function. And better optimal results is achieved.
