Coiler is an important equipment in the strip production line, which is widely used in the production of strip rod. With the steel industry structure adjusted step by step at this stage,coiler equipment has been made towards the high speed, high tension and high automation.The carrousel coiler is the most advanced cold strip coiler device in the world. As most carrousel coiler was introduced from abroad, the study of carrousel coiler is not quite further, especially the study of torsional vibration and dynamic response. For example,in the practical production, there are many equipment accidents that cannot explained with the static theory, in spite of the safety factor of steel rolling equipment was took as large as possible. The field measurement and theoretical study have shown that these incidents are often related with the torsional vibration of transmission. It's quite important for localization of carrousel coiler by make deep research on the dynamic characteristics.Based on the project called"comprehensive technology development of carrousel coiler", which is signed between a company and Chongqing University, the dynamic characteristics of the coiler was analyzed and studied in this paper, and main work was as follows:The working principal of carrousel coiler is introduced;The torsional vibration mechanical model of transmission system is built by employing lumped-mass method and equivalence principle; using Lagrange equation method to establish the dynamic mathematical model, using MATLAB program to get the natural frequency and principal mode of torsional vibration and getting fine mutual verification with fem analysis; building the dynamic response analysis model and using classical modal analysis theory to calculate the amplification factor; in order to optimize structure design,analyzing the main transmission system sensitivity , getting the stiffness sensitivity and inertia sensitivity; at last,building the carrousel driven system simulation model by using ADAMS Multi-body dynamics function, analyzing how the transmission accuracy,gear mesh stiffness,damping ratio of shaft affect the carrousel coiler dynamic characteristics.In this paper, under the conditions of the lack of relevant information both at home and abroad, the dynamic characteristics of the coiler are deeply researched, applying the theoretical basis for the design and optimization of carrousel coiler.
