Water-borne organic zinc-rich primer with both good mechanical properties and better anti-corrosive performances were prepared,which included water-borne epoxy zinc-rich primer and water-borne acrylic zinc-rich primer. And different influencing factors of anti-corrosive performances of the primer are discussed in detail in this paper. The paper consists of two parts.The first part was the preparation of water-borne epoxy zinc-rich primer. Effectes of type of waterborne epoxy resin systems, type of water-borne epoxy curing agents, ratio of water-borne epoxy resins to curing agents, the different ratioes of spherical zinc to lamellar zinc and at that time of different PVC, type and dosage of anti-rust pigments,the thickness of the coatings,the treating methods of matrix on the anti-corrosive properties were discussed in detail. The factors influenced the properties of coatings were characterized by FTIR, SEM and the test of main routine properties. The results show that: the optimal film forming material was relatively high molecular weight bisphenol a water-borne epoxy resin C and amine adduct curing agent C1; when the mass ratio of water-borne epoxy resin C to curing agent C1 ranges from 8:1 to 10:1, the anti-corrosive properties of coatings were excellent; when the spherical zinc powder with the ratio of lamellar zinc was 2:3 and PVC was 50%,the anti-corrosive properties of coatings were excellent; the influence on the anti-corrosive properties was litter when the anti-rust pigments B instead of 4% zinc,but it can reduce costs;the thickness of coatings and the treating methods of matrix had a great influence on the anti-corrosive properties of coatings.The second part was the preparation of water-borne acrylic zinc-rich primer. Effectes of type of water-borne acrylic resin systems, type of spherical zinc and lamellar zinc, the ratioes of spherical zinc to lamellar zinc, type and dosage of anti-rust pigments,PVC,the thickness of the coatings,the treating methods of matrix on the anti-corrosive properties were studied. The factors influenced the properties of coatings were characterized by LS13320 laser particle diameter analyzer, SEM and the test of main routine properties. The results show that: the film forming material a which used soap-free polymerization had the best anti-corrosive properties;the spherical zinc 1# and lamellar zinc I with high content of metal zinc and a narrow particle size distribution had excellent anti-corrosive properties; when the spherical zinc powder with the ratio of lamellar zinc was 3:2 and PVC was 55%,the anti-corrosive properties of coatings were excellent; the influence on the anti-corrosive properties was litter when the anti-rust pigments b instead of 6% zinc,but it can reduce costs;the thickness of coatings and the treating methods of matrix had a great influence on the anti-corrosive properties of coatings.Water-borne epoxy zinc-rich primer and water-borne acrylic zinc-rich primer with both good mechanical properties and better anti-corrosion performance were prepared, and the prospective performance index are reached.
