In this dissertation, ten novel complexes have been designed and synthesized, namely, mono-nuclear complexes [Co(L1)2(SCN)2] (1) and [Ni(L1)2(SCN)2] (2) with 2-carbazole-1,10-phenanthroline (L1) and thiocyanate ainon as ligands; binuclear complexes [Cu2(μ1,1-N3)2(L2)2]2(ClO4) (3), [Ni2(μ1,1-N3)2(L2)2]2(ClO4) (4) and [Ni2(μ1,1-N3)2(L2)2(N3)2]2(H2O) (5) with azide anion as bridge ligand and terminal ligand and 2,6-dipyrazole-1-pyridine (L2) as terminal ligand; mono-nuclear complex [Zn(L2)(Cl)2] (6) with 2,6-dipyrazole-1-pyridine and chlorido anion as terminal ligands; mono-nuclear complex [Cd(NCS)(L2)(NO3)]n (7) with 2,6-dipyrazole-1-pyridine, thiocyanato anion and nitrate anion as terminal ligands; mono-nuclear complexes [Cd2(L2)2(NO2)4] (8) and [Zn(L2)(NO2)2] (9) with 2,6-dipyrazole-1-pyridine and nitrito anion as terminal ligands; mono-nuclear complex [Cd(NCS)2(L3)2]n (10) with 2-chloro-6-(1H-1,2,4-Triazolyl)pyridine (L3), thiocyanato anion and chlorido anion as capped ligands. All the complexes have been characterized with Infrared spectrum, and their crystal structures were determined by X-ray crystallography. The variable-temperature magnetic susceptibilities of complexes (1), (2) and (3) were measured at range of 2-300 K; fittings for the data of the susceptibilities have been processed with relevant theoretical formulae, and some correlation betweenπ-πstacking and magnetic coupling properties for complex (1) and (2) has been obtained; for complex (3) some relevant factors dealing with bridging modes of azide anion and magnetic coupling propeties between bridging Cu(II) ions have been obtained and further confirmed. The correlation factors between coordination structures of other seven complexes and the structural specialities of 2,6-dipyrazole-1-pyridine and 2-chloro-6-(1H-1,2,4-Triazolyl)pyridine also have been discussed. The magnetic study on complexes (1) and (2) will bear important meaning in exploring and understanding the correlation betweenπ-πstacking and magnetic coupling properties; the magnetic study on complex (3) certainly benefits the understanding of the magnetic coupling properties for the complexes with azide anion as end-on and basal-apical bridge coordination mode. This dissertation also benefits the syntheses for complexes with the derivatives of 1,10-phenanthroline and the derivatives pyridine as ligands.
