Using of EAF-CSP in producing container plate in Zhujiang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd breaks the exclusion area that the CSP cannot be used to produce container plate.But after the expansion of production scale, the producing process reveals some weaknesses, such as micro-cracks of the coils in the cold-bending process and so on. It is necessary to study the reheating process of SPA-H steel because of its importance in leading to defects.In this paper, a series of studies were carried out considering the field production situation of SPA-H container plate billet in the roller hearth furnace.The enrichment of Cu in slab reheating process was studied and the effects of reheating conditions on the enrichment of Cu were found out through the experiments.The relationship between heating conditions and the high temperature thermoplastic of slab was found out through high temperature thermoplastic experiments of the slab. Meanwhile, the oxidation loss of billet in the furnace was studied in order to find out the kinetics of oxidation.In order to clarify the effects of real-time temperature of the slab in the heating process on the crack generation and enrichment of Cu, program that predict slab temperature in the furnace was written using VB2008, thus real-time temperature of the slab in the furnace calculated out and a certain optimization of temperature carried out. The study in this paper provides some guidance in identifying the causes of cold-bending cracks in the products and provides a theoretical basis for the development of a suitable heating process and prediction of slab temperature.
