Nowadays, the electrical submersible pump (ESP) which has unique advantages and characteristics gets more and more widely used in oil field production. However, with many years development, the fault diagnosis theory and technology of ESP required urgently to be solved, which has affected the application.Based on studying the outcomes in related fields at home and aboard, the essay combined theoretical mechanics theory with experimental study method, researched fault diagnosis technology of ESP. On this basis, this paper reported the causes of typical failure, analyzed the components prone to failure force state. Then, the paper established vibration mechanical models of the typical fault and derived the motion equations of each vibration mechanical model. This paper tried to simulate typical faults in test well, collected vibration signal and made signal analysis, drew different faults of time-domain diagram and frequency-domain diagram. According to the parameters of testing ESP machine, the paper calculated vibration mechanics model, similarly, drew on their respective time-domain diagram and frequency domain diagram. The thesis compared the characteristic values of diagram and verified the accuracy of the vibration mechanics model. Finally, theoretical analysis combined with field experiments, summarized a set of ESP state monitoring and fault diagnosis method, provided support for ESP more effective application.
