Electric submersible pump(ESP)units are the main oil extract devices in the oil field presently. But the high failure rate is the disadvantage of ESP,and most of failures are closely related to the vibration of the units. In order to provide evidence for fault diagnosis, vibration acquisition and analysis system is designed, which can analyze vibration signals and extract relevant features of failures. The main contents are as follows:(1)According to the characteristics and requirements of the ESP test, the issue of overall design of the system and functional goals setting is completed, furthermore structure design based on the settings of each part of the measuring points is developed.(2)Vibration acquisition and analysis system consists of lower computer and upper computer.A microcontroller C8051F021 as the core module is designed in lower computer, and could sample 3-dimensional vibration signals.VB software is applied in the upper computer to program the interface, while complex data are processed by Matlab software. This method can realize the signal analysis and fault diagnosis of ESP units, which greatly reduces the workload of the staff, improves the efficiency and enhances the level of industrial automation.(3)Using the difference of vibration characteristics between the different operating conditions, statistical software about vibration signals is designed.By counting relevant informations in the time domain or the frequency domain, the dynamic state of ESP units can be easily obtained.Onsite tests shows that the system design is reasonable, the precision is high.It can be operated easily. The system can meet a variety of on-site vibration acquisition and analysis requirements.
