The foreign Company proposed the Riserless Mud Recovery(RMR) drilling system replacing the traditional drilling technology to overcome the problems encountered in the process of deepwater drilling. In this system, ocean riser is eliminated. Mud and cuttings are pumped to drill platform with minor diameter return line. The present paper is sponsored by"Development of large scale oil&gas field and coalbed gas"National science and technology major special project (2008ZX05026-01), research was carried on the hydraulics analysis of riserless mud recovery drilling technology.Based on the study of the related technology abroad, analysed the operating characteristic and introduced the equipments of RMR system particularly. Power allocation scheme was proposed. On the basis of the law of conservation of energy, established hydraulics calculation model, developed the hydraulics calculation formulas of RMR system, including the calculation of drilling mud temperature, borehole pressure, ECD, pressure loss and pump unit power. Following different optimizing criterions designed the hydraulic conditions. The RMR system casing program was proposed.Compiled hydraulic software with Visual Basic, gave an example and compared with the data of literature, verified the correctness of the calculation formulas and procedures. In order to meet the performance requriements of suction module of RMR, theoretical analysis and structural design was proposed.Using Pro/E established 3D model of suction module and detail drawing.Given finite element analysis of SMO with ANSYS software, extracted result to proceed optimization design and intensity calibration.
