Tobacco flavor is an essential material in cigarette producing process. It has great effect on the odor and taste quality of cigarette. The quality control of tobacco flavor has been focused by cigarette enterprise in recent years.In this study, The optimization for enterprise was obtained by comparison among several separation methods, such as liquid-liquid extraction, headspace extraction, simultaneous distillation-solvent extraction(SDE).With the help of gas chromatography-mass spectrum (GC-MS) separation and detection combining related pre-treatment methods , the chromatographic fingerprints of tobacco flavor have been built. The results showed that the repeatability and comparison were good. This method has been successfully applied to control the quality of tobacco flavor, and the result is satisfying.A statistical quality control (SQC) model of the tobacco flavor was built by odor fingerprint analyzer. Eligible samples and unqualified samples were examined successfully by the model so that it was probable to execute quality control. The method of odor fingerprint analyzer was characterized by easy sample pretreatment, fast speed and no contamination. It was considered as a new objective method for analyzing the sense quality.
