Polydextrose is one the best choices for water-soluble dietary fibers. Our study includes analytical method, synthetic route, facility and plant design and implementation.Based on the investigation on the related patens and literature, we adopt HPAEC-ED method to analyze the content of polydextrose. The synthesis route using dextrose, citric acid and sorbitol was selected and the equipment for lab synthesis test was built. In the equipment, the effect of reaction temperature and reaction time on the conversion ratio of feedstock and molecular weight of product was investigated and the optimized reaction condition was obtained.On the basis of lab test results, the design of flow diagram for pilot test was followed. It includes, technical flow, selection of equipment and material, enactment of process control and waste disposal. The related pre-experiment was done and results show that the design for pilot trial was reliable.The idle workshop has been renovated according to pilot test results. We designed a product line with a production capacity of 10000T per year which compliant with HACCP requirements. We have been certified HACCP in 2009, and our goal about exporting abroad has been realized.
