This paper focused on preparation methods of the Cu2O/TiO2 composite films and visible light photodegradation of these composite films. The Ni-P-TiO2 film was prepared on 304 stainless steel substrate by means of electroless composite plating. The Cu2O/TiO2 composite film was prepared by the cathodic electrodeposition method on the former TiO2 film. The preparation conditions of the composite catalyst were researched by using orthogonal experimental method. The films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), ultraviolet visible near infrared spectroscopy (UV-Vis-NIS), anodic polarization curves and electrochemical impedance (EIS). A variety of factors of the composite films'photocatalytic activity, photoelectrocatalytic activity were discussed by degradation of methyl orange under visible light irradiation. The kinetics of photocatalysis and photoelectrocatalysis process was also researched. The results showed that catalytic activity and absorbing spectrum range of the Cu2O/TiO2 composite film were apparently higher than those of TiO2, and much higher at electrochemical-assisted conditions. And the photoelectrocatalysis process happened easier.
