Food safety has always been the topic of concern to people. The relevant departments have formulated strict rules and regulations on food safety. With the variety of food problems, regulations relating to food safety have become more and more strict and all testing standards have also continued to increase. In order to meet the testing requirements, a variety of testing instruments and detection methods are emerging constantly. The testing equipments and methods make a contribution to improve food safety testing accuracy and efficiency.This paper presents a food safety detection method bases on multi-sensor and data fusion. This detection method is mainly for detecting formaldehyde, lead, cadmium, organophosphate and carbamate pesticides and so on. Because of so many substances being tested, a variety of sensors are needed, such as piezoelectric sensors, spectrophotometer, optical sensors and biosensors. These sensors will change the concentration of substances into optical or electrical signals.Because of the multi-sensor group, a large number of signals will be generated. By the constraint of sensors output capacity, these signals are often weak. The system will be applied to on-site testing and the environment will be complex that the signal will be affected by many factors. This system being designed with variety of chips will complete signal amplification, signal filtering and A / D conversion and so on. In order to reduce the pressure of the system, a variety of signals will be sent into pre-circuit firstly. After removing some of the significant error data, the signals will be sent into the final data processing unit.The detection system uses the CPLD of EMP240 for data processing. The type of data processing chip has the characteristics of fast speed and easy to operate. In this way the system can save time and improve the detection efficiency. Meanwhile, in order to read and input data, the system has also been designed with some relevant external devices, such as LCD module and keyboard module. In this paper, the controlling method of every module has been described and the programming has been written.At the end of this paper, the situation of data fusion technology and the algorithms have also been introduced.
