This paper is based on a piezoelectric flexure hinge fast tool servo (FTS), analyzed the causes of the agency's errors, examined geometric errors and dynamic errors of agency's movement in details, and carried out modeling and analysis.FTS is currently a good method about free-form optical surface processing, with unique technological advantages, got widely accepted and used in the industry. Free-form optical surface is widely used in military and aerospace fields. In recent years, along with the progress of the productive forces, people are more and more to use product demanding higher precision. And so, civil products with its popularity, commodity diversification, and its large quantities of requirements, contain huge economic benefits, e.g. the aristocratic luxury car has been changed to popular consumer products, and at least millions of amount of sales are there every year, that still not include the high grade cars. Modern car's headlights use more free optical surface which in the past processed by traditional processing method, low efficiency, poor precision and expensive. Under market economic chain, cost reduction, selects the optimal method to improve efficiency, seizes the market highlands, achieves the interest in the competition, is the key to tide of sustained. This caused a drive, the development and change of the manufacturing industry. It just talked about one of free-form optical surface applications. FTS is the best method of free-form optical surface processing, and processing free-form optical surface is one of FTS's specific applications. So FTS attracts the universal attention in manufacturing industry, the research on its theory and application never stopped since its birth.The principle of fast tool servo is that the tool driven by the controllable high frequency response reciprocates motion in order to achieve the purpose of cutting. This method is suitable for cutting non-rotary symmetric surfaces (optical free surface) and repeats the process with complex shape parts. In processing, a tool path can get a higher form accuracy and good surface roughness. Fast tool servo technology with optical components of the production process free-form surface has obvious economic and development potential. In the term of high-end technology development trend, it is generally used in military field, and then gradually civil common areas. From the development of FTS, the transition is gradual, and the huge demand for civilian products and the attract from markets are driving the development of fast tool servo ushered in the opportunity, particularly to low-cost, high-frequency response, high accuracy, high stability and high durability. This is FTS inevitable direction for some time.In the 80s of last century, FTS was born in the United States and has been kept for nearly 30 years. Currently, its application field has covered error compensation from the organization, free optical surface machining and other fields. FTS product type is more abundant (more practical applications abroad). FTS actuator, from the initial piezoelectric ceramic, developed a magnetostrictive-type, Lorentz force type and Maxwell force type. Oriented support organizations have made great progress and developed superior performance device such as static pressure guides, flexible hinge structure. FTS control method has got continuous progress, who provides a strong guarantee to high precision and accurate positioning.This thesis is targeted on the flexure hinge based FTS which actuated by piezoelectric actuators. The piezoelectric actuators are the common driver in the FTS, the flexure hinges have the characteristic of no friction, no air-way, good stiffness and so on, which are widely used in the design of FTS. Therefore, this is a common type of FTS, with the general findings of FTS, the conclusion of this study has the universal significance. This thesis discussed the causes of the FTS error, and then the influence of the errors to the overall error is analyzed. The geometric model and kinetic model of the FTS are built, and then analyzed the simulation result of the models.The characteristics of universal FTS are simply analyzed; the aim of this thesis is to play a reference role to the people of research, design and manufacturing FTS.
