Study On Component Warp With Thin-wall Plastic Injection Moulding

Thin-wall plastic products play an important role in automobile plastic products and IMD plastic products. And warpage, which is a common problem in plastic injection, shows unique characters in thin-wall plastic injection. Adjusting technical setting on the base of traditional experience and technical skill is considered to be inefficient and hard tor estimate the product development cycle. However, it is efficient solution for decreasing warpage by optimizing plastic injection setting supported by both CAE and orthogonal experiment theory.Mechanics, factors and control solution of warpage within thin-wall plastic injection products, including new requirement of injection plastic, mould design, injection unit etc. The impact of multiple plastic injection parameters on warpage of plastic injection products are comprehensively evalued. Taking windows packer as research object, construct its simulation model, arrange the simulation according to orthogonal experiment theory, analysis the simulation result, and figure out the best injection parameter combination and the impact of parameter on warpage of plastic products. It comes out that injection time is the most significant factor. Judged from real experiment in the factory, better product with less warpage can be produced by using the best injection parameter combination.Warpage of IMD thin-wall plastic injection product is studied with the same method. Taking a laptop cover as research object, arrange the plastic injection experiments according to orthogonal experiment theory, analysis the results, and figure out the best injection parameter combination and the impact of parameters on warpage of IMD thin-wall plastic products. It comes out that PET thickness is the most significant factor. And warpage of the laptop is effectively reduced.
