The silicon powder fluidization was carried out on the device established by ourselves. The device consists of aΦ120×2000 and aΦ400×7300 mm fluidized bed, also of various internal components, dust removal equipment and data acquisition system. A lot of experiment data about the fluidization of silicon powder in different sizes was tested by means of U-manometer, powder void meter and particle velocity analyzer. The influence of fluidized bed, the type of gas distributor and finger tube on the behavior of silicon powder fluidization was also examined in this paper. The various factors affected on the quality of silicon powder fluidization were understudied. The experimental results obtained on the cold model provide a basis for selection of silicon powder size in large-scale production.From fitting experimental data points, the curve equations of stacking density and critical fluidization velocity were confirmed. Furthermore a method of estimating the behavior of fluidization using standard pressure deviation was established. Our studies on the influence of fluidized bed types, gas distributor and internal components in bed on the property of silicon powder fluidization provide a reliable basis for fluidized bed reactor design in industrial scale.
