Coal is the primary energy source in China electrical power industry. Because of extensive mode of development and low energy utilization, consumption of coal in China became the largest in the world. That results in more particle matters emissions and worse atmosphere environment, so more and more attention has been attracted in this field. To reduce the emission of the particle matters and overcome the defects of traditional technology, experimental electrostatic precipitator (ESP) system under pulse power controlling particle matters was established. And the main contents of this paper include the followings:1. Parameters which influence ESP's collection efficiency were tested, including pulse and DC power, pre-charged power, residence time, charging electrodes and so on. Results show that collection efficiency under pulse power higher than that of under DC power, especially to PM2.5, pulse power can enhance 16.9%, reaches 86.96%;to the matters size less than 20μm, migration under pulse power were 54.22% more than that of DC power, it even can reach 62.24% to PM10.2. This paper also studied the influence of collection efficiency under different power supply mode. Results show that duty cycle raises can make the collection efficiency reduces;the collection efficiency of fine particles appears "V" shape under different duty cycle rate, due to synergy of field charge and diffusion charge. Migration can reach 0.4550 m/s under duty cycle 1/1;while PM10 may be the fastest,0.5499 m/s.3. The paper studied ESP collection theory additionally, considering all the aspects, including dust charging condition, force; we got the agglomeration formula, further more, particle size distribution function also be calculated out; finally the new ESP collection efficiency theory model was derivate out. And it suits the experimental results better than classical Deutsch Formula.
