China produces vast amounts of edible vegetable oils and marketing and empirical studies have revealed that China has a tarnished image due to fraud and that China requires better regulation policy for these oils. These studies also show that China lacks the ability to identify and act upon this fraud in a timely manner. Further study is needed to help China detect more quickly and eliminate this fraud to ultimately guarantee the long term quality of vegetable oil going into food products. Furthermore, other policy needs to be installed that will bolster research for continuous improvement of edible vegetable oils.This thesis focuses mainly on the research from technical and policy analysis to help mitigate fraud, improve existing quality of edible vegetable oils, and for the continued development of new and improved edible vegetable oils. Main contents are noted below:1. Uncover the 5 main causes that seek to destroy the production and distribution of edible blended oil.a. Lack of uniform national regulatory standards; Challenging based on the variety of raw materials and the quantitative detection of oil.b. Processing enterprises that lack integrity; Fraud is rampant as the enterprises seek monetary gain through illegal interests.c. Marketing system disorder pricing chaos.d. Supervision system inadequacy; Existing regulatory and management functions are disconnected.e. Insufficient funding for product development; Government show little interest to resolve.2. Research, that used quantitative analysis, found solution when comparing overseas documentation to that of domestic documentation. By sharp contrast over domestic operations, the overseas operations benefit by strict governmental regulatory procedures for chemical testing based on fat content, supervision across all levels of activity, adhering to high levels of quality control, and dedication to continuous improvement.3. This thesis adopts systematic, inter-disciplinary, and analytical methods to study the strengths and weaknesses of China's current system of law enforcement in the realm of edible vegetable oil. There is a strong need to inject this system of law enforcement into all enterprises that produce edible vegetable oils to ensure they follow strict standards for quality control and continuous improvement. A standard should be adopted to limit ingredients used for making edible vegetable oil, along with the varieties of edible vegetable oil. Standards names should be assigned to edible vegetable oil and all ingredients going into it making should be clearly identified on its label. Based on HACCP quality management system, this thesis recommends the direction of quality of assurance and improvement.This thesis cites recommendation to develop the appropriate enterprise standards to improve the management system, and to establish a municipal standard, along with promoting the formation of national standard and tighter supervision in the processing and distribution of edible blended oil quality level solution...
