Therefore, as a summer cotton clothing on the existence of some defects in UV protection, it is necessary to carry out anti-UV finishing.Wool protein molecules in the aromatic amino acids (phenylalanine, tryptophan and tyrosine), for the wavelength UV less than 300nm-1 has a greater absorption properties, so the UV-shielding properties is better.Amino acids of wool keratin and proteins in human skin are of the same class of proteins and has a good affinity of the human body, so fabric finishing with the wool keratin, Finished fabric on the human body is not only comfortable, but also has health care function.This paper studied the preparation technology of ionic liquids and their characterization. Then, ionic liquid used for the dissolution of the wool fiber and wool keratin dissolved in the solution for the cotton fabric finishing, part of the cotton fabric performance is improved.In this paper, the synthesizing procedure of the two kinds of ionic liquids-[bmim]Br and [bmim]BF4 that made from N-methyl-imidazole has been studied, and there structure can be embodied by IR and HNMR. and the purchase of the other two: [Bmim] Cl, [Emim] Br, are used for wool fiber dissolution.Solution temperature, dissolving time, types of ionic liquid and methods of dissolved effects on the solubility is to study. the optimum treatment technics of ionic liquids solution of wool has gained as follows: types of ionic liquid is [bmim] Br, method of dissolved by mechanical stirring, solution temperature 130℃, dissolution time 7 h get the solution rate is 12.25% keratin solubility; keratin is extracted from the keratin solution. and thire property can be analyzed by IR and X-ray, the amide bond was found in extracts, and has characteristics of peptide, should be protein, crystallinity of extracts has decreased, indicating that this method can dissolve the wool fibers.Finally, wool keratin / ionic liquid solution was used for finishing of cotton fabrics, the performance of fabric was tested after finished and found that the finished fabric wrinkle resistance increased;UV-shielding properties are still well after repeated washing, and has good washing fastness. Decrease in brightness and strength, but reduce the rate does not affect the the performance of fabric; Despite the stiffness increased ,not affect on the hand by more people testing.So,keratin solution was used for cotton fabrics to functional finishing is feasible.
