Bag-in-box of edible oil is a new packaging style. It not only facilitates the consumers to withdraw edible oil from the bag, but also can proceed the air into the bag through the valve. This packaging style makes the oil in the bag in an environment without oxygen, as a result, ensures the quality of edible oil and increases its shelf life. The key technologies of bag-in-box packaging of edible oil are choosing suitable materials of inner bag and designing proper dimension of outer box. This thesis made some researches on the key technologies through experiments and theories. It contains the following aspects:(1) Analyzed the key technological problems of bag-in-box packaging of edible oil .The key technologies of bag-in-box packaging of edible oil are choosing suitable materials of inner bag and designing proper dimension of outer box. The choosing of materials of inner bag should consider the shelf life of edible oil in different materials of inner bag and the effect after the damage to the bag-in-box packaging. Besides, the design of outer carton should consider the reasonable match between the inner bag and outer carton.(2) Research on the effect of three different barrier characteristics flexible materials on the oxidation of edible oil. Through acceleration tests, analyzed the oxidation of edible oil in different materials and evaluated the packaging effect. As a result, it is reasonable for the companies to choose the materials which have low OTR.(3) Simulated the transport conditions of BIB packaging system in lab, and analyzed the wear conditions of inner bags through drop and vibration tests. Adopting oxygen transmission rate and apparent reaction as evaluating indexes, the thesis assessed packaging effects after damages to the inner bag. As a result, the companies should choose the proper materials according to the transportation route and the shelf life of the oil.(4) Analyzed the relationship between the pressure of inner bag and dimension of outer carton. The thesis got a reasonable dimension of outer carton through compression tests. Simplified the bag-in-box system, and built the mathematical model, as a result , the thesis optimized the design of outer box through matlab software.
