As an excellent photocatalytic material, TiO2 has been drawn wildly attention of many scientists, and always been the focus of research and application in material field. The suspended type TiO2 has some severe drawbacks such as catalyst conservation and water/catalyst separation in which the discharged TiO with effluent might be harmful to human life due to its biological accumulative effect. To solve these problems, the combined system of photocatalytic membrane reactor, so called immobilized type, has been adopted. Recently, the immobilized technologies include sol-gel, deposit and so on. Most carriers of TiO2 are inorganic material, silicate mostly, metal and active carbon in the next place. In this manuscript, we successfully prepared the perfluorinated-sulphonated-resin /TiO2 hybrid film, whose modifier or carrier is perfluorinated sulphonated resin(PSR). The microstructure of the hybrid film was characterized by X-ray diffraction, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR). The photocatalytic properties of PSR/TiO2 hybrid films were evaluated. The main contents are as follows:1. PSR/TiO2 hybrid films were prepared by sol-gel, using slide glass as the carrier. The structure of hybrid film was characterized by XRD, FT-IR and SEM. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated.2. PSR/TiO2 hybrid films were prepared, using perfluorinated sulphonated resin as the carrier. The phase of PSR retained well, which was characterized by X-ray diffraction. But the phase of TiO2 was perplexing, including anatase, brookite and rutile. The hybrid film possessed weak photocatalytic activity. The degradation of methyl orange is 31.3% under UV irradiation for 1 h.3. PSR/TiO2 hybrid films were successfully prepared on the basis of recasting, using Nepem(trade name, PSR of Best Co.) solution and TiO2 anatase powder as the raw materials. The hybrid films possessed excellent photocatalytic activity. The MO degradation of the 5% membrane was 60% at time 30 mins.. The increase of TiO2 dosage did not accelerate the MO degradation significantly. The photocatalytic activity kept stable after five uses. 4. We also successfully prepared the PSR/TiO2 hybrid films, which is based on recasting, using Nafion (trade name, PSR of Du pont Co.) solution and TiO2 anatase hydrosol as the raw materials. The results from XPS and FT-IR indicated that the TiO2 Nanopaticles were bounded to Nafion molecule by Ti-O-S bond and hydrogen bond. The flocculates formed by mixing in Nafion solution with TiO2 hydrosol were distributed homogeneously throughout the recasting Nafion membrane. The Nafion/TiO2 hybrid membranes possessed strong photocatalytic activities without H2O2. The MO degradation rates of all the hybrid membranes were above 94% under UV irradiation for 90 mins.. After dipped in H2O2 solution for 30 mins., the photocatalytic activity of the 5% hybrid membrane was increased to 80.4% from 55% under UV irradiation for 30 mins..
