This paper synthesized a series of bromide 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium and nitric acid 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium ionic liquids. Bromide 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazole was synthesized with alkyl bromide and the intermediate N-methyl-imidazolium. Then intermediate bromide 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium nitrate and sodium nitrate was prepared 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium ionic liquids, and the synthesized substances were characterized by IR. The surface tension of ionic liquids were performed more detailed research, including EMINO3, PMIBr ionic liquid, PMINO3 ionic liquid, BMIBr ionic liquid, BMINO3 ionic liquid, AMIBr ionic liquid, AMINO3 ionic liquid, HMIBr ionic liquid, HMINO3 ionic liquid, HEMIBr ionic liquid, HEMINO3 ionic liquid, OMIBr ionic liquid, OMINO3. The relationship between temperature and the surface tension for bromide 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium and nitric acid 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium ionic liquids at 273.15K~343.15K was characterized. After analyzed the results, it is concluded that the surface tension of bromide 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium and nitric acid 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium ionic liquid will decrease with increasing reaction temperature. Meanwhile, the comparison of surface tension for a series of bromide 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium ionic liquid and a series of nitric acid 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium ionic liquid was analyzed.Increasing the length of carbon chain, the surface tension decreases gradually. Inaddition, the different anions effect on the surface tension of ionic liquids, and the greater surface tension was involved in the greater cation and anion.Then, above liquid surface entropy, surface energy and crystal lattice energy were calculated.We studied the following ionic liquid refractive index, EMINO3, PMIBr, PMINO3, BMIBr, BMINO3, AMIBr, AMINO3, HMIBr, HMINO3, HEMIBr, HEMINO3, OMIBr and OMINO3. The recovery rate of water, ethanol, acetonitrile EMINO3, PMINO3, AMINO3, HMINO3 were obtained by standard addition method.
